Submissions

Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to make a submission to this journal. All submissions will be assessed by an editor to determine whether they meet the aims and scope of this journal. Those considered to be a good fit will be sent for peer review before determining whether they will be accepted or rejected.

Before making a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included with the submission, such as photos, documents and datasets. All authors identified on the submission must consent to be identified as an author. Where appropriate, research should be approved by an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study's country.

An editor may desk reject a submission if it does not meet minimum standards of quality. Before submitting, please ensure that the study design and research argument are structured and articulated properly. The title should be concise and the abstract should be able to stand on its own. This will increase the likelihood of reviewers agreeing to review the paper. When you're satisfied that your submission meets this standard, please follow the checklist below to prepare your submission.

Author Guidelines – EKSIGMA Journal

These guidelines aim to establish the official format that authors must follow when submitting manuscripts to EKSIGMA Journal. Strict adherence to these standards ensures editorial uniformity and facilitates the editing process.

Manuscripts must be written in Spanish, following the formats defined in Article Format_ESP. 

1. General Document Format

• Paper size: A4.

• Margins: Top 2.5 cm, Bottom 2.5 cm, Left 3 cm, Right 3 cm.

• Font: Palatino Linotype.

• Font size: 11 pt for the main text.

• Line spacing: Multiple (1.15).

• Alignment: Justified.

• Length: Maximum 18 pages, including tables, figures, and references.

• Language: Spanish or English.

2. Titles and Subtitles

• Article title: Palatino Linotype, 16 pt, bold, centered, single spacing, with 0 pts before and 15 pts after.

• Subtitle (if applicable): Palatino Linotype, 13 pt, bold, centered, multiple spacing, with 0 pts before and 10 pts after.

• Main sections (Heading 1): Palatino Linotype, 11 pt, bold, uppercase, left-aligned, single spacing, with 12 pts before and 6 pts after.

• Subsections (Heading 2): Palatino Linotype, 11 pt, bold, left-aligned, single spacing, with 12 pts before and 6 pts after.

• Sub-subsections (Heading 3): Palatino Linotype, 11 pt, italic, left-aligned, single spacing, with 12 pts before and 6 pts after.

• Unnumbered blocks (Heading 4): Palatino Linotype, 11 pt, left-aligned, single spacing, with 12 pts before and 6 pts after.

3. Bullet and Numbered Lists

• Bulleted lists: Left indent 0.8 cm, hanging indent 0.5 cm; Times New Roman, 12 pt, single spacing.

• Numbered lists: Same format as bullet lists.

4. Figures and Tables

• Figures: Must be centered and numbered sequentially. Captions should appear below the figure, in Palatino Linotype, 11 pt, centered, italic, single spacing, with 6 pts before and 12 pts after.

• Tables: Must be centered and numbered sequentially. Captions should appear above the table, in Palatino Linotype, 11 pt, centered, italic, single spacing, with 12 pts before and 6 pts after.

5. Abstract and Keywords

• Length: Approximately 200 words.

• Structure: For empirical articles, follow the IMRaD format (Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion). For theoretical articles, provide a general abstract without subdivisions.

• Keywords: 3 to 5, separated by semicolons.

6. Citations and References

• References must follow APA, 7th edition.

• Hanging indent: 1.27 cm.

• Line spacing: Double.

• Order: Alphabetical by the first author’s surname.

• Include DOI or URL when available.
