Digital Preservation Policy

EKSIGMA is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation, accessibility, integrity, and availability of its published scholarly content.

Preservation Strategy

EKSIGMA preserves its published articles, editorial metadata, supplementary files, and other relevant digital resources through technical backups and digital preservation measures.

Responsibilities

The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for overseeing compliance with this Digital Preservation Policy and for ensuring the continuity of the journal’s editorial content.

The Technical Administrator of the OJS platform is responsible for maintaining the technical infrastructure, safeguarding files and databases, and supporting restoration procedures when necessary.

Backup Procedures

The preservation process includes:

  • The OJS database and editorial metadata.
  • Published article files and supplementary materials.
  • The OJS files directory.
  • Configuration files, themes, and installed plugins.
  • The journal website and associated technical settings.

Storage and Security

Backup copies are maintained in secure technical environments with restricted access. Reasonable measures are taken to protect the journal’s content against data loss, technical failure, accidental deletion, security incidents, or service interruption.

Restoration Procedures

In the event of data loss, system failure, accidental deletion, a security incident, or platform migration, the Technical Administrator will take the necessary measures to restore access to the journal’s published content using the available backup copies.

Preservation Formats

EKSIGMA preserves content and metadata in the digital formats used by the journal, including PDF files and associated metadata. When available, additional formats such as HTML or XML may also be preserved.

Continuity of Access

If EKSIGMA changes its publishing platform, hosting provider, editorial management system, or ceases publication, reasonable measures will be taken to preserve access to all published content and maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.

This policy will be periodically reviewed and updated in accordance with technological developments and the journal’s preservation capabilities.
