This research presents the implementation of RFID technology at the Instituto Superior Tecnológico Luis Tello (ISTLT) to enhance security and access control to the faculty lockers. The system is based on the use of the ESP32 microcontroller and the RC522 RFID reader, which allows for more efficient management compared to traditional keys. In the testing phase, it was found that the system responded efficiently to simple tasks, with an average response time of 1.5 seconds per card, but showed delays in resource-intensive tasks, such as uploading files, with an average response time of 2 seconds under load conditions. The overall user satisfaction was "very satisfactory." However, areas for improvement were identified, particularly in hardware and network infrastructure, suggesting that performance could be optimized with a technological upgrade. Periodic evaluations are recommended to ensure the system's performance.
